ABOUT US... ABOUT SPAINBIRDS
      We've now been working for eleven seasons on what started out as a small project called "Spainbirds". Since then our company has been constantly moving on with the times, taking on new challenges and responding to the increasing demands of an ever more numerous travellers. Fruit of all these endeavours we show you our 2010 tours selection wishing to meet you soon in one of them.

     Although we are specialist organising birding & nature trips throughout the whole of Spain specially Extremadura, Andalucia (over all Doņana and Strait of Gibraltar), Pyrenees, Picos de Europa, Gredos Mountains and Madrid, we don't want to forget to the indepent travelers offering some useful information, specially regarding where to stay near the main birding spots through this web site.

     Besides since 2007 Spainbirds is being in charge of the trips organized by the central office of SEO/BirdLife (the spanish partner of BirdLife International), organization with more than 11,000 members. Our aim is to promote the Ecorutism in the country with the widest biodiversity in Europe. Because respect and conservation are both difficult if one doesn't know all the treasures that surround us. More than 500 Spanish birders have travelled already with us visiting many of our nature reserves and national parks... including expeditions abroad such as Argentina in 2008 and Scotland in 2009.

     It only remains for us to thank you for placing your trust in Spainbirds and to wish you many fruitful birding trips crammed with unforgettable experiences. And we'll be there ourselves, binoculars primed, in the thick of the action.

TRAVELLING WITH SPAINBIRDS

* Our experience speaks for itself: Spainbirds has been succesfully designing and leading birding & nature tours since 1.999 being currently the top birdwatching company in Spain. As an example we have worked for several RSPB bird clubs (Bristol, S.E. Hertfordshire...), the American Birding Association (ABA), and for some of the best well known companies such as Sunbird, Wings, Heatherlea or The Travelling Naturalist. SEO/BirdLife, the Spanish partner of BirdLife International has also chosen our services for organizing its excursions and international tours since 2007.

* Local knowledge: Spainbirds is a 100% local company which only uses professional guides. Please refuse the companies which use just "good birders" as guides, who don't know much about our nature, customs or even our language.

* Your money will support local conservation projects: Spainbirds Nature Tours S.L. currently supports SEO/BirdLife in their campaign to protect the environment and birds of Extremadura. We have also made donations to modify some of the most dangerous electrical installations for threatened especies such as the Spanish Imperial Eagle or the Great Bustard.

* Professional services: It is of a high importance to make sure that you are arranging services of legal companies, please make sure that your company has the corresponding permits to operate in the area visited and don't hesitate to ask for your invoice where the VAT (taxes) must be also included in the price. FOR YOUR INFORMATION THERE ARE SOME GUIDES WHO ARE NOT OPERATING AS A LEGAL BUSINESS!!!.

* Small parties: Our small groups of not more than 7 participants + 1 leader guarantee a personal attention during the whole tour and the chances to see the target species are much higher than travelling with larger groups.

* We guarantee all our tours with a minimun of 4 participants

* High quality accommodation: We carefully choose charming rural cottages and small top quality hotels placed next the main birding spots for all our tours. All meals are included in our prices, breakfast, packed lunches and traditional evening meals plus local red wine are daily in the menu.

* Transport: We always use modern and confortable aircon 9-seat minibuses (or smaller vehicles depending on total number of participants).
